Vince Neil with Original Sin REALLY Rock the Downtown Grands "Rock the Street" Concert

This was a surprise event when it was announced, the Downtown Grand kicked off a Rock The Street Concert with Vince Neil and openers Original Sin outdoors, steps from the Casino and in the middle of the North end of 3rd street. I am hoping they hold more of these types of events, and they had a great night downtown with a big crowd that came to rock the night away. Starting the show off was hometown boys and newly reunited Original Sin, comprised of "original" Sin City Sinners members from the height of their heyday, with Brent Muscat on guitar, Doc Ellis on bass, Rob Cournoyer on drums and the talented Todd Kerns (a Conspirator for Slash) on guitar and vocals. Hearing these 4 guys play brought back a flood of memories as these are the four who started things off for me locally. On this night the band played selections off their CD Exile on Fremont Street and Dive Bar Days Revisited. They sounded as tight as ever and its always a good night when you can see Todd Kerns sing and play guitar. I always considered Todd one of the best front men I have seen locally and he has an amazing command of an audience. Look for these guys playing again and enjoy some solid rock n roll by one of the best bands to ever play Vegas.

Motley Crue front man Vince Neil stepped up next performing another of his solo shows, and as usual his band was the backbone from Slaughter. On bass it was Dana Strum, on drums it was the entertaining Zoltan Chaney and one of my favs on guitar Jeff Blando. The show kicked off with the Motley Crue classic "Dr. Feelgood" followed by "Piece of the Action", then the hard driving "Looks that Kill". Vince slowed things down and performed a crowd fav "Home Sweet Home" which had everyone singing along, then it was "Don't Go Away Mad" followed by another great sing along song "Same Ol' Situation". Vince then exited the stage, and let his band do their thing jamming to some kickass versions of "Whole Lotta Love" and "Immigrant Song". Vince returned and finished off the show with "Kickstart My Heart", then a song that could be the Las Vegas National Anthem, "GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS" and then the dangerous "Wild Side". As always Vince delivered a show that was much appreciated by the huge crowd at the Downtown Grand.

Look for more shows this summer at the Downtown Grand and as always Scary Monsters Music will be there to bring you photos and a recap of all the excitement at downtown Las Vegas's new music hot spot. Thank you to the Downtown Grand for making this evening a smooth experience for us covering this event.
