The Fremont Street Summer Concert Series moved into concert number two on June 9 when they brought Las Vegas a double bill of alternative rock featuring FILTER and LIT.
LIT and FILTER are both known for having one major hit that exploded onto the radio scene in the late 90’s, in the case of LIT it was the hit song “My Own Worst Enemy” and for FILTER it was the hit "Hey Man, Nice Shot". Both of these choruses are familiar to even the most casual fans, evidenced by the large number of fans singing along when these were played on Fremont Street.
Although both of these alternative rockers are known for those mega-hits, and have been accused of being one-hit wonders, they both showed the huge Fremont crowd that there is much more to them than just the radio play number. LIT gave the fans some real meat with songs like “Miserable” and "Zip Lock", and FILTER came out with a set including "Jurassitol" and "American Cliche".
This was only the second concert in the 2018 Fremont Street Summer Concert Series, but it has been evident from the size of the first two crowds that this may be the biggest summer concert series in Fremont history. Tonight was all about the alternative rock, but there are many other types of big shows heading to Fremont this summer still to come.
