Metal night returned to the Beauty Bar, with a cool Monday evening in downtown Las Vegas, with a four band showcase that included Casket Raider, Sahara, Eminence and Skeletal Remains. When we arrived we found out we just missed Casket Raider, and was one of the bands we wanted to see! But we still had three more bands to check out, and EMINENCE and was our first, all the way from Brazil, who had gone on stage pretty early for Beauty Bar.
EMINENCE has been together since the mid 90’s and did not play in the states until 2012, and is now out and touring in support of their new four song EP titled Minds Apart, and this band in my opinion was the best band of the night. They have that classic Brazilian metal sound with pounding drum beats and killer guitar riffs. and their sound is mean and nasty metal.
Local band SAHARA THRASH was next on the bill, and this band was pretty interesting as their sound is sometimes thrash and sometimes doom, but always evil. Sahara Thrash is about as dark as any local band we have seen.
SKELETAL REMAINS from Cali are an old school death metal / thrash band in the classic sense, with hair flying and searing guitar solos this band was a throwback to the days when thrash ruled the underground metal scene.
All three bands gave a great performance, and Beauty Bar has been a great pace to see more touring heavy metal and thrash this year. For more upcoming events check out their calendar HERE.
