AMERAKIN OVERDOSE RETURN TO VEGAS FOR SINWAVE NU.WAVE NIGHTS

I decided to venture out on a Wednesday night and go to SINWAVE, one of the best new music venues in the Arts District in Vegas. I believe this was the first night of their new creation, NU.WAVE nights, which features a live DJ playing Nu Metal classics in their front lobby area, and then a live band at 10pm in the concert room. For this night we were treated to the return of shock rocks AMERAKIN OVERDOSE, who last played here in July of 2018 at the now shuttered Beauty Bar on East Fremont Street. I talked with the guys in the band briefly before their show, about their prior show, and they remembered playing there and thanked me for coming out on a Wednesday night to see them again. Ironically, Scary Monsters Music loves covering horror themed bands, lol. Amerakin Overdose hail from Portland, and was started by Cody Perez, one of the vocalists for this band, and is on the road celebrating the release of their new album, Artificial Injection that just came out on July 12.

From the moment the band hit the stage, I knew we were in for a wild evening of nu metal, with each member wearing a different mask and outfits. They sounded really great in Sinwave, which has a fantastic sound system and a big enough stage that the band could move around on. The show started out with their drummer The Brick pounding away on the drums then the brothers Cody and Pico Perez hit the stage all hell broke loose. Amerakin Overdose really kill it in the smaller venues that true rock fans go to, and it's amazing to see them in Vegas in a smaller room. One of the highlights was hearing the new single “Toxic”, and more new songs in the set. At the end of their show they brought out a blow up doll and hung her up above the drum kit as they played “Cunt”, before wrapping up a glorious industrial night of metal at SINWAVE.

This is a fan friendly band who appreciates and goes out of their way to accommodate their fans, and after their set went to their mech table and took photos and talked with fans until everyone was gone. Check out videos and merch at amerakinoverdoseband.com, as well as ordering the new album or listening on Spotify HERE.

A big shout out to the owners of SINWAVE for putting together such a kickass venue in Las Vegas, and a big thank you to Patrick Pulsar of Pulsar Presents for bringing the kind of shows to Vegas that metal fans want. Check out SINWAVE upcoming shows and events HERE.
