CHAOS & CARNAGE TOUR 2023 SUICIDE SILENCE / DYING FETUS / BORN OF OSIRIS / ABORTED / SANGUISUGABOGG / CROWN MAGNETAR / SLAY SQUAD

The CHAOS & CARNAGE Tour stormed into the House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on a Wednesday afternoon and brought some brutal bands along This was not a show for everyone, and those who dared to venture onto the main floor were

involuntarily swept into huge swirling mosh pits that featured everything from a fan dressed as a nun to a guy with a shirt that said “mosh pit jesus”. There was a usual circle pit, the wall of death and a new one I have never seen before, murderball. That's where the band Aborted threw a ball into the crowd and said whoever survives and brings the ball to their merch table gets free stuff. That set off a frenzy like nothing we have seen in a long time. Also there was the nonstop barrage of crowd surfers -

security really had their work cut out for them trying to make sure everyone remained safe, and should be commended for their patience in dealing with what might be the rowdiest crowd in years.

Chaos 2023 featured SLAY SQUAD, CROWN MAGNETAR, SANGUISUGABOGG, ABORTED, BORN OF OSIRIS, and co headliners DYING FETUS and SUICIDE SILENCE. Slay Squad opened the show with a great mix of metalcore & hip hop. During their set they tossed out handfuls of money and the crowd thought they were fake bills. To my surprise when I went back in the photo pit to pick a few up as souvenirs I discovered that they were in fact real $1 bills. I picked up $20 worth and shared half with those in the front row.

Crown Magnetar,'s brutal vocals and a heavy deathcore sound kept the heat on. Next was the band no one could pronounce their name, Sanguisugabogg, another brutal death metal band that was one of the highlights of the show.

Belgian death metal / grindcore band, Aborted might have been the most vicious of the whole show. Born of Osiris was more of a progressive metalcore type, and were very well received by the crowd and though not a traditional death metal band, but fit nicely on this tour.

Now it was time for a deathcore giant, Dying Fetus, a powerful 3 piece band with songs like “Kill Your Mother Rape Your Dog”, “Grotesque Impalement" and "Justifable Homocide”. This band is brutally heavy and def worth the wait to see them.

Suicide Silence s one of the best bands of this hardcore genre and gave the fans exactly what they wanted. Playing favorites such as “You Must Die", "Fuck Everything" and "No Pity For A Coward”.

Chaos and Carnage 2023 was a long show, starting during the daylight hours and lasting well into the night, but totally worth it.Fans got their money worth with seven brutal bands and a seven hour show. We can not wait to see what brutality Chaos & Carnage brings to the world in 2024.
