Cold Cave brought the dark night to Las Vegas, with a SOLD OUT show at the Fremont Country Club downtown for a night of 80's influenced goth pop, with special guest Kontravoid, and the fans came out big to dance and make their body move.

DJ PAULIE entertained the crowd on the Triple B venue side until the doors opened for the main event in the FCC room, where KONTRAVOID got the night off to a blasting start. Kontravoid is Canadian-born, LA-based Cameron Findlay, who brought a dark pop electro set, with a mix of old and new. Kontravoid released 2024 album Detachment, and have been giving fans a taste of the new music on the road. Cameron wears a white mask while performing, creating a moody and mysterious look, and used non stop flashing strobes and smoke. The vegas crowd really danced away, with a great pop EBM opening for the headliner to come. More on Kontravoid and the new music HERE.
COLD CAVE was what the crowd was waiting to see, and Wesley Eisold, vocalist and instrumentalist for this noir act, started the set amidst smoke and red lights with single "She Reigns Down" from the recent Passion Depression album. This record was a real collaborative release from Eisold, with partner Amy Lee contributing to the writing process, as well as on stage. Their set was heavy on songs from the new record, the first live version of "Octavia", the newest single, but with some pieces of Cherish and Full Cold Moon singles mixed in as well.
Cold Cave sound gives a heavy nod to Sisters of Mercy, Fields of Nephilim, The Cure, New Order... the 80's touted 'EBM' never stopped, and Cold Cave and others are keeping the scene and sound front forward. The crowd really loved - and knew - all the songs and music, singing and dancing to every one, and Eisold really knows how to own a stage with his haunting voice and interaction with the fans. This show brought out real Cold Cave fans, and felt like an intimate set in a big room, but really earned some new fans as well. The show wound down with "Everlasting", again from Passion, before briefly leaving the stage before returning for an encore of "Prayer From Nowhere", and concluding with "Promised Land" to a crowd that didn't want the show to end.
Eisold is the creator of Heartworm Press formed back in 2006, a record label and publishing house that release music and writings from alt genre, and Passion Depression is available from HP HERE. More on Cold Cave and tour, merch and more HERE.
