Dead Sara rocked the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas with a night of music and lots of fun, and.... that VOICE! Emily Armstrong was wired up (jokingly on "caffeine and dry air")
and fired up, and the band gave a hellacious performance for the Vegas fans, blasting through a set that showed just what they have been up to the last few years, as well as blasts, and I means blasts) from the past.
Dead Sara had seemed to be a little MIA the last 5 years, so it's great to see them back with another album in 2021 and touring again. Ain't It Tragic was a long time coming, but
well worth the wait, full of the raw, bold, edgy, angsty sound the band
is known for, but sporting some new directions and maturing twists. They may have been laying low the last few years, but they're back with a vengeance.
The set started with "Lemon Scent" from their 2012 debut, and rolled through songs from their three albums and EP, and added in a new unreleased song "Violent".
Armstrong has mad backing by guitarist Siouxsie Medley and drummer Sean
Friday, but Armstrong is a noted focal point, her energy and fire unmatched as
she throws herself about the stage. Armstrong likes to talk, and joked and cut up with the crowd in between songs (and death defying jumps off various amps and equipment) always a non stop center of the actionas the set closed out with a ferocious "Weatherman". The show was so much fun, the band sounded amazing, Armstrong's voice is just so damn good.
Dead Sara will be returning to Las Vegas as part of the SEMA Fest November 3-4, info on tickets HERE.
