Another epic night at Triple B’s with the return of GOATWHORE, who brought along on tour VITRIOL, and the Black Metal sound of THANTIFAXATH. We also got the treat of two local Vegas acts on the bill too.
D’ANGELED started off the show, a newer Vegas band who we covered at their very first show a couple months back. This time around the band had a proper stage to play on, and the chance to perform in front of a much larger crowd, who seemed to show up early to catch them play. Before they took to the stage I asked the band what's in store for them coming up - they are playing on October 26th at SINWAVE and working on recording some music to put out at the beginning of 2025.
D’ANGELED looked and sounded great in the venue and the crowd seemed to really appreciate what the band brought to the stage. The band did not seem intimidated or
nervous playing to a large crowd and won over a bunch of new fans. Its not very often a band playing their 2nd show gets to open for a band like Goatwhore, but D’Angeled pulled it off with a very respectable performance and showed they deserved their spot.
BURIED BY VENGEANCE is another local band who I have not seen before, and a unique thing that caught my attention was that the lead guitarist was a female shredder named Sarah Dugdale. This is something we don’t see too much here in Vegas, there is usually a male guitarist in most thrash metal bands. Sarah really impressed me and the crowd, and proved she can hold her own onstage. This was BBV's EP release party and we got to hear some really great stuff from this new band. Joining Sarah onstage also were Javier on bass & vocals and
Zach on drums. Great young band - see them again November 9 at BB&B with Crowbar.
THANTIFAXATH was the first band in the tour lineup, a Canadian black metal band based in Toronto, and onstage wore head to toe black hooded outfits, and you never saw, even one time, what they actually looked like. Compared to the sound of the openers this was very extreme, dark, heavy and aggressive. Not for everyone, but very interesting to see. The vocals were very throaty to go along with the black metal screaming guitar, a
contrast to the nights linup but a talented progressive band.
I saw VITRIOL not long ago on the Carnage & Chaos tour, and once again they blew me away with a wall of sound, that never stopped from the opening song until the band exited the stage. This is a very powerful band and the kind of show you want to see if you LOVE extreme metal - it is hard to even describe how unbelievable this band is live, and how they grab your attention and keep you enthralled their entire set. The band is touring in support of their new 2024 CD Suffer & Become, an amazing extreme metal cd from start to finish. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Vitriol.
Next was the return of NOLA's GOATWHORE, and it's hard to believe they have now been around for 27 years! I covered Goatwhore at Psycho Las Vegas, and also in this very same venue just two years ago. Talking before the show with lead singer Ben Falgoust (who is very intimidating looking onstage but off could not be any nicer), and he spoke about the last time they played here at BB&B and how much he enjoyed it. As expected the band was tight, and delivered
an exceptional performance for the Vegas fans, opening with “The Bestowal of Abomination” followed by “Alchemy Of the Black Sun Cult” that really set the crowd into a frenzy.
During the show Ben asked who actually lives in Las Vegas, to which someone yelled 'we do but its hot as fucking hell here', to which Ben replied 'well it also hot in Louisiana'. The show was a mass of headbanging action at the BB&B, and they played a long set that really gave the fans there moneys worth. The set pulled cuts from their most recent album, 2022's Metal Blade release Angels Hung from the Arches of Heaven, that really shows more of the solid Goatwhore sound fans love.

Goatwhore's lineup is Ben Falgoust on vocals, Sammy Duet on guitars, Zack Simmons on drums and Robert Coleman on bass. One of the better touring club bands you will ever see, and there is a lot of tour left - running through September across the US (with a few Canadians dates in there), find out more on tour dates HERE
