Hinder made the House of Blues in Vegas a staple on this Back to Life Tour - it's been 6 years since I last saw HINDER (also at the HOB LV) and I was very excited to see what the band has been up to since. I was also super thrilled to see one of my favorite touring bands, SALIVA - I have seen them every time they played Vegas for over 10 years. I have heard nothing but good things about the opening band KINGDOM COLLAPSE, so I also get to see what the fuss was all about...
KINGDOM COLLAPSE kicked off the night, a Texas based hard rock band who really put on a hell of a show - their sound, and stage presence were fantastic! This was night three of the tour, and the boys had the middle fingers up most of the night, singing about getting f@cked over in life and having to start over, blazing into their set with "Unbreakable", the single from their 2022 EP of the same name.
The song went to number 1 on the Sirius Octane charts - lead singer Jonathan Norris said rock n roll helped him get through the agony of his father's death, and has 'unbreakable' tattooed on his arm as tribute to that. The band (David Work on guitar, Aaron Smith on bass, and Elijah Santucci on drums, along with Norris) kept up a fierce unrelenting force for their set, really giving the night a energetic start and making new fans. New single "Elevate" out earlier this month shows the band is not letting up on new music, and you can check out the video and more on Kingdom Collapse HERE.
SALIVA brings the energy each and every time - vocalist Bobby Amaru is one of my favorite frontmen, and his voice sounded outstanding and seemed to go the extra mile on each and every song! The band opened their show with “Superstar” and hit “Ladies and Gentlemen" - now with drummer Sammi Jo Bishop (who is beyond great behind the kit), Brad Stewart on bass, Josh Kulack and Sebastian Lebar on guitar, along with Amaru -leading a powerful set for the diehard Saliva fans.
The band is touring in support of their new deluxe CD titled Revelation : Untold, a collection of songs - some reimagined versions from the Revelation release from 2023, some new singles with special guest spots. Saliva treated the fans to "Devils World" and "Time Bomb" from Untold in the Vegas set, and the vocals were sensational! And as always, closed out their set with their two big hits,”Your Disease" and “Click CLick Boom”.
You can catch the first single “Devils World” right here, and more on Saliva and the new music HERE.
HINDER really meant it when they said back to life - the band was tight and really put on a impressive and energetic show. Lead singer Marshall Dutton said from the stage, "they are glad to be back playing live, after sorta losing their way", and that the new music has helped them find their way back to touring once again. The Oklahoma City based quartet (Joe Garvey guitar, Cody Hanson drums, Mike Rodden bass, and Dutton) released their new single “Live Without It” in late 2024, and subsequent "Everything is a Cult" as well, and we got treated to both live. I loved the band's version of Collective Soul's “SHINE”, a nice rocking version of the hit to make it their own. The crowd belted out the songs from their lengthy set along with the band, even the new singles... yep, Hinder is back.
Hinder has countless radio hits, and it looks like these new singles may just add to that total. The Back to Life tour continues through March, and the band also has some festival dates lined up at Louder Than Life and Rocklahoma this summer.
