MARILYN MANSON SLAYS LAS VEGAS, BACK ON TOUR AND BACK WITH NEW MUSIC...

Marilyn Manson made a triumphant return to Las Vegas, opening for huge local faves 5FDP at the MGM Grand Arena, and what a night! The pale emperor has been absent in the last few years from the Vegas circuit since the Heaven Upside Down release and tour, and fans were rabid to see Manson back!

And back he was…

Manson blasted into “We Know Where You Fucking Live” after a curtain drop, growling and screaming at the fans, looking in prime form - and backed by a new lineup that really blew me away. The combo with legendary goth bassist Piggy D (Matt Montgomery, Wed13/Rob Zombie/Haxans), Guitarist/composer/producer Tyler Bates, Code Orange guitarist Reba Meyers, and drummer extraordinaire Gil Sharone (Dillinger Escape Plan/Stolen Babies) made for a

talented and tenured group, and the energy and power from the four along with the enigmatic Manson made for a hell of a show, hair and guitars flying, but with a real cohesiveness not seen in a while.

The stage sported the mandatory upside down crosses and red lighting, strobe lights and Manson dubbed out in black patent - a more svelte and focused

Manson, on top of his game and the best live in years. The set focused on more recent songs (well, last 20 years lol) with some highlights for me of “Deep Sixx”, “The Dope Show”, and reached farther back for “Angel with the Scabbed Wings” and “Tourniquet”.

Included was the new single “As Sick as the Secrets Within”, released just last month on Nuclear Blast records, a rebirth of sorts for Manson, some of the first new music since 2020’s We Are Chaos. It’s been a bit

of a road back for Manson the last few years, but if this show was anything to go by, he’s on a spectacular track.

And the crowd seemed to agree, fans screaming along to the songs, and after the finale of “The Beautiful People” hearing a murmuring from the fans as they filtered out for a break, ‘that will be tough to top’.
