NU SKOOL with GRAVEL and RED MOON ONE at JACKPOT BAR & GRILL LV

This show was not promoted like it should have been, I mean, it's was a holiday weekend, a really nice venue, and yet, we could find anything online promoting this except from the band NU SKOOL themselves. With some serious competition in Vegas for the holiday, the turnout was low, but I loved the venue, love the bands and loved the show.

RED MOON ONE started off the show, featuring Riley Baxter, who from what I have seen is an incredible tattoo artist at Pussykat Tattoo here in Las Vegas. Red Moon One is a 3 piece band that plays original music; in your face kind of music. These guys did a really great job of kicking off the evening's show and hopefully we will see more of this band as they play their way around vegas. Follow them on FB for more info HERE

Last time I saw GRAVEL was way out north Vegas in a small Latin club that really was not the best place to see this hard rock band, and I left feeling just ok about them. But this time what a big difference! This venue had an actual stage, great lighting and better than average sound, and Gravel took advantage of all of it. From the moment this band hit the stage they grabbed my attention and held it through their entire set. I can honestly say I loved this band this time around, and even for a small venue the band brought a full setup and really brought an A game. This is road rock, and Gravel plays it better than almost anyone, it was a great show and will look forward to seeing them again. Check out more on the band and hear music HERE

I have seen NU SKOOL every time they have played here in Vegas, and love what this talented group of friends bring to the stage. Talking to some of the guys before the show they were telling me how the generator on the bus was not working properly and they had

trouble getting any sleep at all on their way to Vegas, especially with the temps in the bus reaching over 100 degrees. But even though the guys were weary, they still brought all they had to the small but very appreciative crowd. The supagroup featured Aaron Nordstrom of Gemini Syndrome, Randy Mathias of Stitched Up Heart, Carmine D’Amico of LA Story and Jamie Moreno of Edge of Paradise. They describe themselves as a 'Nu Metal Comedy Tribute/Cover Band', and yes, they are all that and more. You get to hear music from all

your favorite Nu Metal bands such as KORN, LINKIN PARK, LIMP BIZKIT, SYSTEM OF A DOWN and many many more, and you then get the comedy between Randy and Aaron. Before they played a Disturbed song, Randy looked at Aaron and said, “You're not looking so good”.... Aaron replied, “that’s because I am coming down with the SICKNESS”.... (yeah, yeah I know lol). But the line of the night went to Randy, as the band was getting ready to play a Limp Bizkit song he looked at Aaron and said “you're just a more albino version of

Fred Durst” and had the crowd laughing their asses off. The members obviously love playing and cutting up together, and it makes for a great show from some heavy talents.

Since this was the next to last show of the tour, the band told the crowd they had shirts for sale which are usually $25 but tonight they had a special sale of 2 for $50. Slick. As NU SKOOL was winding down their show, members of Gravel got onstage and sang "Bodies" with them for a fun finale.

I've seen 6 shows with Gravel and they never disappoint. They will put on a show that will wake the dead with heart pounding energy. (The bass player, Patrick Haling, is an unearthly beast on stage.🤯) Nu Skool is unbelievable with their spot on tribute to the bands and songs they perform. I can't believe how they vocally pull off all the variations of tones of different artists. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
