The Amity Affliction delivered a powerful metalcore performance at Albuquerque’s Sunshine Theater, leaving fans awestruck. The evening commenced with opening acts Many Eyes and Solence, who set the tone with their energetic sets, followed by Hail the Sun, whose dynamic performance prepared fans for the headliner.
Despite the recent turmoil with the departure of founding member bassist Ahren Stringer, when The Amity Affliction took the stage, the crowd erupted, reflecting the band’s continued strong following. Vocalist Joel Birch was on fire, and along with Dan Brown on guitar, Joe Longobard on drums, and now with bassisti Jonathan Reeves in tow, the show was a powerful force.
The setlist featured several songs from their most recent 2023 release Not Without My Ghosts (Pure Noise Records), and included fan favorites such as “Pittsburgh,” (which was certified RIAA Gold this week!), “Drag the Lake,” and “Don’t Lean on Me”, each song resonating deeply with the Albuquerque crowd. The band’s synergy and stage presence were unmatched, creating an immersive experience that showcased their musical talents.
The Sunshine Theater’s acoustics and intimate setting enhanced the atmosphere, allowing fans to really connect closely with the band and feel a part of the show. The set wrapped with a frenzied "Soak Me in Bleach", to a wall of cheers. Overall, the night was a testament to The Amity Affliction’s ability to continue to deliver compelling live performances, leaving fans looking forward to what's next.
